SHAKIRA
I generally find spice more appealing than sugar when it comes to ladies, the classic femme fatale is my red flag, often to my own undoing. So this week’s Saints and Sinners post is something of a digression from the leather clad, gun-toting girls we’ve featured so far. She’s a philanthropist, singer of the Soccer World Cup anthem Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) and from what I can tell, a genuinely decent person.
I hadn’t really paid her much attention until the World Cup anthem came out but now that I have, I am glad I did, Latin American blood cut with a Columbian accent… Waka Waka indeed.
Not known for her clever lyrics. In her song ‘Wherenver, Werever’ she sings “Lucky that my breasts are small and humble, So you don’t confuse them with mountains” Riiiight… yes that is lucky. Men often confuse large breasts with mountains, just the other day a friend of mine got into some serious trouble trying to scale some double D’s.
Although this detracts from the category, celebrating beautiful women, I tripped over this blot on an otherwise remarkable landscape. Who ever conceptualised the below design went for the sultry temptress vibe, missed completely and ended up making Shakira look like a bag of spanners.
What the FiretrUCK is going on here? Why is she stealing an apple from the top half of a baby, that seems to be growing out of a nest? What does this have to do with Oral Fixation ? Vol 2?
Her latest album cover has improved, keeping things simple and leaving treebaby out of this one. There was talk of Shakira taking an apple from a wolf but due to the logistics of getting a wolf to want to eat an apple and not Shakira’s hand meant the idea was thankfully shelved.
Apparently she’s got a thing for Rafa Nadal, casting him in a music video called ‘Gypsy’. The filming was apparently filled with innuendo and flirting. At one stage Shakira was just swinging on Rafa’s left bicep and singing. He joked that she should keep an eye on his balls and she said that he should keep his strokes above the net.
Oh how they laughed.
