Two-hundred-and-fifty-two sets of twins and triplets gathered in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, last weekend, beating the record for the most sets of multiples recorded in Ireland in the same place at the same time. The parade was led by Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf, the formerly conjoined twins who were separated at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London a year ago.

Really, CNN?

Firstly, does anyone really do this? And if they do, I then ask travelers/future travelers, how hard is it to do a little research on the country you’re visiting before you go and get yourself into trouble?

Secondly, I’m pretty sure Ireland was a dominion of the Crown until 1949.

This whole article makes me a little angry. I was lucky enough to get to spend 5 months in Ireland, but most people don’t get that much time to see the hidden gems of the place. When visiting somewhere you should do what YOU want to do, and if you only have a few days then by all means hit up the touristy stuff. Hopefully you’ll be lucky enough to get to come back (hopefully you’ll want to!) and then you can take that chance to explore more of what the country has to offer.

I’ve been to London twice now, and both times I did touristy things. And both times I had only a few days but I still had a fantastic time. Bottom line, traveling is about more than what you do, and seeing the most or “the best” things/attractions do not necessarily guarantee the time of your life.

Seriously though, research. It’s awesome.

Bowling for Soup , get yer asses back to Ireland!
